Waist to height ratio (WHR) – is a measure of your waist in relation to your height and is an indication of the distribution of body fat. The ideal waist to height ratio is that your waist measurement should be no more than half of your height measurement.
To calculate your WHR you can use this formula WHR = waist circumference (cm) ÷ height (cm). any result of 0.5 indicates you may be at a higher risk of weight related disease.
You can also use a piece of string to measure your WHR!
Simply take a piece of string to measure your height, and then fold it in half to see whether it fits around your waist. If it doesn’t fit you may be at a higher risk of weight related disease.
