Beef Khorma

Ingredients

• 800 gms minced beef
• 1½ Tbsps butter
• 2 medium onions (sliced)
• 2 garlic cloves (crushed)
• 1 large green chilli (finely chopped)
• 3 tsps fennel seeds
• 1½ tsps cumin seeds
• 1 tsp ground turmeric
• 1 tsp ground cardamom
• 1 cup beef stock
• 2 small tomatoes (chopped)
• 1/3 cup fresh parsley (chopped)

 

Method

  1. Heat butter in a large pan, cook onion stirring until brown.
  2. Add garlic, chilli and spices. Cook, stirring continuously until fragrant.
  3. Add minced beef.
  4. Cook mixture until beef is browned and well cooked.
  5. Add stock and bring mixture to the boil.
  6. Cover and simmer for approximately 20 minutes.
  7. Remove lid and continue to cook until liquid has evaporated, stirring occasionally.
  8. Just before serving, add chopped tomatoes and parsley to add colour.
  9. Serve immediately.
