What makes us different
Dr. MacLeod’s started with the simple determination to give people weight loss products that worked and tasted great.
The Dr. MacLeod’s brand was establised in 1990 by Dr Tim Orchard who was passionate about helping people lose weight, but disappointed with the range of VLED products available to his patients that offered poor taste and very few flavour options. So he decided to change the VLED industry.
In consultation with expert food technologists and food scientists Dr Tim worked on developing a premium quality, delicous tasting VLED range of products that offered more than just vanilla and chocolate drinks.
In 1992 the Dr. MacLeod’s VLED range of drinks, soups and bars was offered to Dr Tim’s patients and is still used by doctors and hospitals throughout Australia and New Zealand today.
Clinically proven
VLED programs are a medically accepted and clinically proven weight loss method that provide the benefits of a mild ketosis that may suppress hunger and the motivating effect of rapid weight loss.
Dr. MacLeod’s VLED programs have been shown to be very effective with average weight loss for men being 9kg in 4 weeks and women 6kg in 4 weeks and are the preferred products of many bariatric (weight loss) surgeons.
